Assigning an Exit Survey

Exit Survey

After you mark a child's last day, you can also choose to send an Exit Survey to the family. Your Transparent Classroom account comes with a default Exit Survey, so you can get started using this feature right away!

In this article you will learn about:

  • Assigning an Exit Survey
  • Viewing and modifying an Exit Survey
  • Disabling Exit Surveys

Assigning an Exit Survey

Exit Surveys can be assigned once a child's last day has been selected on their Profile.

Once the date is selected, the fields for "Reason for Leaving", "Exit Notes", and "Exit Survey" will appear.

If you have more than one survey, you can select it from the dropdown. You can also choose "(none)" to skip sending an exit survey for that child. Scroll down and click [Save] to apply the last day and send the Exit Survey you selected.

Viewing and modifying an Exit Survey

Exit Surveys are a type of Electronic Form, and can be found by going to [Admin] > [Design Forms]. Click on the default Exit Survey to modify it, and remember to click [Save] to apply your changes. You can also choose to create a new Exit Survey from scratch by going to the Design Forms page and clicking [New]. Make sure to choose "Exit Survey" from the Form Type dropdown menu before you click [Create].

The Reasons for Leaving section in any Exit Survey cannot be modified. Reasons for Leaving are fixed so your school can collect high quality, quantitative data about exiting families over time. For this reason, you cannot add an "other" option to the list, instead, use "None of the above". Please ask staff and families to select the reason that best fits their situation, and then provide details in the Exit Note.

How to Disable Exit Surveys

For schools wishing to disable the Exit Survey feature, just go to [Admin] > [Design Forms] > click "Exit Survey" to open the editor > check the box for "Inactive" > [Save].
