Organizing the School Info Area

You can make a School Info article that is full of links to other School Info articles. For example, you have several parent resources articles, and articles for your Primary parents, but you don't want to list them all in the School Info Sidebar. Instead, you can create a single article that is listed in the sidebar, and when parents click on it, it is full of links to the other pages.

In this article you'll learn how to:

  • Mark an article as listed/unlisted in School Info
  • Create an article with links to other School Info articles

Mark an Article as Listed/Unlisted in School Info

When you create a School Info article, you can choose to have it listed in the School Info Sidebar on the Homepage, or you can mark it as Unlisted. Unlisted articles can only be accessed from the sidebar when you click on [Show All] at the bottom of the School Info section. When you click on [Show All] as a teacher or admin, you will see a list of all the articles. They will be sorted by "Listed" and "Unlisted".

Listed articles have the option to [Unlist] and reorder.

Unlisted articles have the option to [List In Sidebar].

Create an Article with Links to Other School Info Articles

A clean way to give easy access to multiple articles from the School Info Sidebar without having to list them all is to create an overarching article full of links to other relevant articles. If you don't already know how to create a School Info article, please refer to this article: Adding School Info on the Home Page.

Once you've created all the articles you'd like to link into your main article, go ahead and create the article you want listed in the School Info Sidebar. All you have to do to add a link to an article already created in School Info is to click on the dropdown menu called "PAGES" and select a page from the list. It will show up in your article in square brackets. You can also type the exact name of the article in square brackets: [Example]. This will automatically create the internal link to the other article. Don't forget to [Save] when finished!

Pro Tip: You can also use square brackets in the Lesson Editor to link to other lesson descriptions. Schedule a training if you'd like to learn more about this!
