Use Photos to Share with Parents and Record Progress

Tagging a photo is just like making a record on the Activity page, and, if done correctly, will update a child's progress with lessons while sharing with parents at the same time. In this article you will learn to:

  • Share a photo with parents
  • Record progress using a photo

Share a photo with parents

First things first, where are all the photos I uploaded? All the photos that you upload to Transparent Classroom will show up in your [Activity] page under the [Untagged Photos] tab. Only staff can view Untagged Photos.

To attach a child to a photo, click into the text box next to the photo and type "@" and then the child's name. Select the child from the drop-down that appears. If you click [Save] now, the photo will be posted to the child's profile and sent to parents according to your sharing preferences and the parent's notification settings.

Who will see this photo? Only the parents of the children you have tagged in this photo will see it.

Record progress using a photo

After you've tagged the appropriate children in the photo, you can add progress with lessons by typing, just like the Activity page.

In the text box, use one of your keywords to indicate a level of proficiency, then type the "#" to bring up a list of lessons. Type the lesson name after the "#" to search for that lesson. Once you've found the lesson you're looking for, select it from the list.

Once you've added a keyword to indicate the child's proficiency and tagged a lesson, click [Save] to send the photo to parents and update the child's progress.

When will parents get this photo? Parents choose their own notification settings and can choose to receive photos right away, once at the end of the day (between 5pm and 6pm local time), or once at the end of the week (Friday, between 5pm and 6pm local time).

Tip: You will know that the photo was saved to the child's profile and that you have added a lesson tag when the child's name and lesson name are in blue.
