Activity Page: Entering Observations and Presentations
The Activity page is the simplest page for record keeping in Transparent Classroom. You can get there by clicking [Activity] on the main menu on the left-hand side of any page in Transparent Classroom. Check out this tutorial and read on to see how to:
- Record observations and presentations
- Tag children and lessons
- Choose what you share with parents by marking records "Private"
- Editing your posts and tagging "all children"
Record Observations and Presentations
On the [Activity] page you can record presentations that you give and observations about your children and your classroom quickly from a phone, tablet, or computer.
To record an observation or presentation, simply type or click the "@" symbol to pull up a list of children in your classroom. Typing the child's name brings them to the top of the list!
Next, add in the level of progress and lesson name to complete the rest of your presentation. When you get to the lesson name, type "#" to pull up a list of lessons for your level (i.e. Primary, Elementary) and type or click on the lesson name. This ensures that your presentation will be recorded everywhere in Transparent Classroom so that you'll never have to enter information more than once.
Mark Records Private
If you're sharing Transparent Classroom with parents, checking the box marked "Private" ensures that only you and your school administrators can see it. Parents will NEVER see a post marked "Private".
More Options! Edit Your Records and Tag All Children
You can edit your posts on the Activity page at any time, including changing the date or the privacy setting. Just hold your mouse over the post to see the options to "Edit" or "Delete".
You can even tag all of the children in your classroom at once by typing "@AllChildren". (Check out our Using Child Groups for Record Keeping article to learn more about customizing smaller groups!)
Now you're ready to try it!
