Daily Tracking
You can use our Daily Tracking feature to record normal events like toileting, eating, and sleeping electronically – saving time (and paper) for the guide. You can track events in real-time or input your notes at a later time (within the same day) for your convenience. If you've invited parents to use Transparent Classroom, they will automatically receive a summary of their child's daily tracking information at the end of the day. In this article we will show you how you can:
- Start using Daily Tracking
- Track events in real-time
- View and update Daily Tracking information for individual children
Start using Daily Tracking
A Transparent Classroom admin can enable [Daily Tracking] and select the events you would like to track for each classroom type in your school's Transparent Classroom account by going to [Admin] > [School Settings] > [Daily Tracking] > slide the toggle to green to enable Daily Tracking for the classrooms you would like > check the box for each event type you will track > choose when the Daily Tracking email will be sent to parents > [Save].
NOTE: If you choose "On pickup" this email will be sent ONLY if you are using the [Sign-in]/[Sign-out] feature of [Attendance], either from the [Parent Sign-in] page or the staff-facing page. For more information about our Attendance feature, you can click here.
Track events in real-time
Temperature
Record children's temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Bottle
Record how much children are consuming.
Nap
Record the times and duration of children's naps with automatic timers.
Breakfast/Lunch/Snack
Each of these events works in the same manner, so you can track what and how much the children have eaten throughout the day based on the video below.
Record diapering events.
Toileting
Record toileting events.
Concentration
Track how engaged the children are with their work.
Concentration is never shared with parents. You can learn more about tracking Concentration here.
Note
Send a note to parents, which they can see from the [Attendance] > [Parent Sign-in] page as well as on their child's [Profile] > [Daily Tracking]. You can think of these notes like digital sticky notes. You cannot record progress with these notes and they are not logged like notes you record on the Activity page.
View and update Daily Tracking information for individual children
Some teachers prefer to take notes and enter them at a later time. You can record [Daily Tracking] events child-by-child by going to [Daily Tracking] > in the top right click [Children] > click a child's photo > [Add] events to their Daily Tracking profile.
If you create a record that you want to edit, such as changing the time or amount, open the child's [Daily Tracking] profile and click on the time of the event and modify the available fields. To delete an event, click the [x] to the right of the event.
Now you're ready to track daily events for your records and communicate them to parents as well.
