Events: Connecting a Google Calendar

You can link a Google account to your school on Transparent Classroom, making it easy to share school and classroom calendars with your parent community.

In this article you will learn how to:

  • Connect your Google account to Transparent Classroom
  • Add school and classroom calendars to your school's account

Connect your Google account to Transparent Classroom:

Each school can be connected with exactly one Google account. You can create and share multiple calendars through the account, such as one for each classroom. Keep in mind that all staff will be able to view all of the calendars on this Google account, so we recommend using the school's email rather than a personal or individual email account.

Once you have created the calendar(s) for your school, go to [Home] and click [Edit] next to "Events". Follow the on-screen instructions and select the account you would like to connect to your school. Make sure you "Allow" Transparent Classroom to access your account.

Once the Google account is connected, attach it to a school from the dropdown menu. Now, you can begin adding calendars to your Transparent Classroom account.

Add school and classroom calendars to your school's account

You can create calendars in the Google account you have connected to your school which are specific to individual classrooms, as well as one for the school as a whole. These calendars will be visible to the parents with children in that classroom and to all staff members. Click [Add] and select the calendar from the dropdown menu. If you haven't made the calendar public through Google yet, Transparent Classroom will prompt you to do so.

Parents and staff will be able to view upcoming "Events" and access the calendar(s) right from the [Home] page.
