Transparent Classroom offers a parent view of our mobile app for iOS and Android so parents can be seamlessly connected to updates about their child.

Setting up and navigating the mobile app for parents

Parents can download the Transparent Classroom mobile app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Using their Transparent Classroom login credentials, parents can log in to the app and configure push notifications. Make sure parents "Allow" push notification when prompted. 

Tip: If a parent skips configuring push notifications, they can always configure their notification settings from their device's Settings later.

If a parent has more than one child at your school, they can navigate between children by clicking their child's name at the top of the page then select the child they would like to view at the bottom of the page. 


Our mobile app is the fastest way for parents to download pictures of their children. Navigate to the [Photos] page on the parent app then tap and hold down on a photo to save it to your device. 

Troubleshooting Push Notifications

Keeping parents up-to-date is important. Here are a few tips to ensure that parents receive push notification from Transparent Classroom.


[Settings] > [Notifications] > [Transparent Classroom] > "Allow Notifications"


Note: Settings can vary by device. For your device's details, contact your device manufacture.

[Settings] > [Apps & notifications] > [Notifications] > under "Recently Sent", see apps that recently sent you notifications > configure notifications. 

Tip: If you don't see "Recently sent" you are using an older version of Android. You may need to contact the device manufacturer to learn how to control specific app notifications.

All devices

We recommend using a device that is less than 5 years old and that has a stable internet connection. We cannot guarantee support for devices that have been released more than 5 years ago.

What's to Come in the Parent App?

Currently, the parent view of our mobile app displays the Activity and Photos you've shared with them. Parents do not have access to any record keeping feature that the Staff view offers.
