Designing Conference Report Templates

It's simple to use Transparent Classroom to design and generate conference reports to share with parents. You can even create reports that automatically import children's progress with lessons, which can save precious hours during conference time! If you have Admin access in Transparent Classroom this article will describe how you can:

  • Get Started by Creating or Copying a Template
  • Customize Your Template
  • Choose Automatic or Manual Progress
  • Click "Save" to Share the Template with Your Staff

You can check out this brief video tutorial, or read on for more details:

Get Started by Creating or Copying a Template

You can go to [Admin] > [Design Conference Reports] to start your designing process. When you first go to this page, the area for your school's templates will be blank.

You can click "New" to start from scratch or scroll down to copy one of our sample templates or an existing template from another school. This can be a great place to start, and you can always customize the template to suit your needs once you've copied it.

Customize Your Template

Conference Reports in Transparent Classroom are completely customizable, so take some time to explore the menu options on the left-hand side of the page. Once you've created a new template or copied one to your school, you can click on a field to edit it or click and drag a new widget from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

Choose Automatic or Manual Progress

It's possible to create reports that automatically import children's progress with lessons, or, if you prefer, you can show progress that is not related to specific lessons in the form of a table. One field that automatically imports children's progress is called "Lesson List w/ Proficiencies":

Here, you can see a child's experience with lessons during the reporting period for the report organized by area and colored coded with their level of progress.

To show progress that is not related to specific lessons in the form of a table, use the field called "Skills Table":

These fields will need to be filled out manually for each child, by entering a keyword or using a checkbox in each column.

Click "Save" to Share the Template with Your Staff

Once you have created a Conference Report template, click "Save" to share it with your guides. You or they can then go to [Children] > [Conference Reports] to generate a conference report draft for a specific child. For more information on how to do that, if you haven't already, you can check out this brief tutorial.

We hope you enjoy using Transparent Classroom to create conference reports. We'd like to remind you that you're welcome to schedule a time where you can ask questions and see our screen. To schedule a training, just hover over "Help" > choose [Train Me!].
